In Nantz v. Heron Creek Associates LTD / CCMSI, OJCC Case No. 25-015023EBG, Judge Erik B. Grindal granted multiple petitions seeking authorization and payment for cervical spine care following an accident date of January 12, 2025.

The employer/carrier had denied responsibility for the claimant’s cervical hospitalization and May 2, 2025 surgery at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. After trial, the JCC ordered the employer/carrier to bear the expense of the surgery and related care, including follow-up care with the treating neurosurgeon, evaluation and treatment by a neurosurgeon for ongoing follow-up, prescribed physical therapy, and pain management.

The order also granted authorization and payment for knee PRP injections and payment for the claimant’s May 3–6, 2025 hospital admission. Attorney’s fees and costs were awarded for the benefits obtained, with jurisdiction reserved as to the amount if the parties cannot agree.
